His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the 42nd session of the Sharjah International Book Fair at Expo Centre, Sharjah.
In his opening address at this esteemed event, Sheikh Sultan delved into the origins of the Arabic language and the history of humanity, tracing it back to the creation of Adam (peace be upon him).
He emphasized that the very essence of the word “Arab” is connected to water, highlighting its fundamental significance.
During this event, the Ruler of Sharjah also unveiled his ambitious writing project titled “Dictionary of the World.” This project is a testament to the belief that the origin of all languages can be traced back to Adam (peace be upon him), underscoring the common roots of human communication.

Sheikh Sultan further informed the audience that 67 volumes of a historical dictionary of the Arabic language have already been completed, and this monumental work is expected to be fully accomplished with a total of 110 volumes by the following year.
This initiative represents a significant contribution to the preservation and understanding of the Arabic language and its rich history, reflecting Sheikh Sultan’s commitment to language and cultural heritage.
