Britney Spears opens up about a deeply personal and long-guarded secret spanning two decades in her upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me,”.
The iconic pop star Britney discloses that during her relationship with Justin Timberlake, she became pregnant with his child, ultimately opting for an abortion, as confirmed by PEOPLE.
In the pages of her forthcoming book, the now 41-year-old Spears candidly shares her perspective on the unexpected pregnancy, expressing her profound affection for Justin and her belief in their future as a family.
She writes, “It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.”
Spears further reveals that Justin was not enthusiastic about the pregnancy, stating that they were too young and unprepared for parenthood.
While Justin Timberlake’s representative has not yet responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment, Spears asserts that if the decision had rested solely with her, she would not have chosen to have an abortion.
She emphasizes the agonizing nature of the experience, reflecting, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”
Scheduled for release on October 24, through Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, Britney Spears’ highly anticipated memoir emerges nearly two years after the termination of her 13-year-long court-ordered conservatorship.
The book promises to unveil her remarkable journey and resilience, providing an intimate look into the life of one of the most prominent figures in pop music history.
According to a press release from Gallery Books, her memoir illuminates the enduring power of music, love, and the importance of a woman sharing her story on her own terms.
