The situation escalated rapidly when she and her husband visited a local restaurant in Ichra, Lahore triggering a mob accusing her of blasphemy.
As tensions flared, the situation became increasingly volatile, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The police were summoned to the scene to diffuse the escalating conflict.

Amidst the chaos, a video surfaced, capturing the woman’s distress as she shielded her face while encircled by the agitated crowd, their voices raised in condemnation.
Amidst the turmoil, a woman police officer, Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi, exhibited remarkable courage and composure. With admirable resolve, she endeavored to calm the frenzied mob and safely extricate the woman from the volatile situation.
Naqvi’s efforts to prevent violence amidst the charged atmosphere were commendable, earning her accolades from both the police department and the public.
Naqvi’s bravery did not go unnoticed, as her superiors acknowledged her valor in risking her own safety to uphold law and order. Recognizing her extraordinary act of courage, she was recommended for the esteemed Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal, the highest honor for gallantry in law enforcement.
Subsequently, the woman, now under the protection of the police, was escorted to the station for her safety. There, she expressed remorse for any unintended offense caused, emphasizing her lack of ill intentions in her choice of attire.
“I had no intentions of insulting anyone’s religious sentiments. I bought the kurta just because it had a good design,” she explained, seeking to clarify her innocence in the matter.
