Alamgir Tareen, the owner of a franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), tragically took his own life on Thursday. The Lahore Police reported that he used a pistol to shoot himself in the head.

Alamgir Tareen had gained recognition as a prominent businessman in South Punjab and operated one of the largest water purification plants in Pakistan. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and went on to complete his master’s degree from the prestigious Yale University.

The official website of the Sultans, the PSL franchise, described Tareen as a passionate sports enthusiast who aimed to establish a strong platform for aspiring athletes and provide them with the best resources to enhance their skills.

Tareen was also instrumental in implementing a data-driven approach within the franchise, demonstrating his commitment to utilizing analytics in their operations.
