Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Lahore, has scheduled a coalition partner meeting on Wednesday (today) to negotiate with the PTI as directed by the Supreme Court.
The meeting will include the top leadership of the ruling government and its allied parties, legal advisors, and possibly Nawaz Sharif via video link. The government has two days to negotiate with the PTI regarding holding elections in compliance with the apex court orders. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari suggested a dialogue with the PTI in the last meeting of coalition partners, but the PDM Chief Fazlur Rehman rejected it. PMLN sources state that Ayaz Sadiq contacted PTI’s Asad Qaiser, and both parties agreed to meet on Wednesday, but PTI Chief Imran Khan stated that Shah Mehmood Qureshi was responsible for negotiations. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the successful maiden flight of the Hurjet, a light combat aircraft, and wished Turkiye greater success in the TF-X project. The Turkish Aerospace Industries conducted the first successful flight test of their locally produced basic trainer and light-assault aircraft on Tuesday.
