Arnold Schwarzenegger has openly acknowledged his affair with housekeeper Mildred Baena, which led to the end of his marriage to Maria Shriver in 2011.
Arnold admitted his mistake, stating that it was his fault and that there was no feud or fight between him and Shriver. Despite the affair’s consequences, Schwarzenegger and Shriver maintain a positive relationship for the sake of their children.
They prioritize their kids and continue to communicate about important family events. The divorce between Schwarzenegger and Shriver was finalized in 2021, as they didn’t have a prenuptial agreement, leading to a complex property settlement.
“The Terminator” star also stressed that the pair always put their children first.
“We always made it very clear that the kids should not suffer because of [the affair],” he explained. “And she has her things, her relationship, I have mine but we always communicate about the kids, about the holidays, about birthday parties and Mother’s Day parties and Christmas.”
(In addition to Christopher, Schwarzenegger and Shriver share daughters Katherine, 33 and Christina, 32, as well as son Patrick, 30.)
