Warplanes belonging to the Saudi-led coalition have intensified airstrikes against Houthi rebel positions in various districts of Yemen, carrying out 110 attacks. More than 30 people have reportedly been killed and several others injured.
In response, the Houthi group has also targeted Saudi Arabia’s border areas, while Yemen’s internationally recognized government has intensified its ground operations against Houthi forces across the country.
According to Arab media, Saudi warplanes bombed Houthi militia military positions in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, as well as in Hodeidah, Taiz, Amran, Hajjah, Saada, Al Jawf, Al Dhale and Marib.
During the airstrikes, several key installations were targeted with missiles, resulting in reports of casualties and property damage.
In retaliation, the Houthis launched a projectile toward Najran, a southern Saudi border city. It landed in a residential area. According to Saudi authorities, six civilians were injured in the incident, while three houses and three vehicles were damaged.
Amid continued Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s border cities and the prevailing security situation, educational activities have been suspended in all schools in the affected areas. Online classes have been extended for a second week to ensure the safety of students and educational staff.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s internationally recognized government has also accelerated its advances against Houthi rebels on several fronts.
According to Majid Al-Nazili, spokesperson for Yemeni government forces, 1,326 attacks were carried out against Houthi positions on various fronts over the past 24 hours. More than 300 Houthi fighters were reportedly killed in the attacks.
The spokesperson further stated that government forces had captured several key military positions while advancing in Taiz province. They had also seized heavy weapons and military equipment found at those locations.
