Police reportedly arrested PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan, along with his nephews, during an ongoing crackdown ahead of the September 27 PTI protest.
According to sources cited in the report, police carried out the arrests from the residence of Aleema Khan and shifted those detained to an undisclosed location in an armored vehicle.
The report further states that Aleema Khan’s sons, Sher Shah and Shahrez, were also taken into custody.
Earlier, police had arrested Aleema Khan while she was travelling from Upper Mall towards Gymkhana. She was reportedly detained under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3-MPO) and transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail, while her personal vehicle was parked at Mazang Police Station.
The report also mentions that Hajra Niazi, daughter of Noreen Niazi, and her husband were previously detained at a police checkpoint near Aleema Khan’s residence. They were reportedly taken to different police stations and later released.
According to the report, arrests were continuing amid heightened security in Lahore in connection with the September 27 protest.
