Apple has added Apple TV and Apple Arcade at no extra cost for Pakistani iCloud plus subscribers with prices unchanged at Rs 200 for 50GB and Rs 2500 for 2TB plans.
Pakistani iCloud+ subscribers woke up to an unexpected and welcome surprise this week. Apple has begun rolling out Apple TV and Apple Arcade at no additional cost to paid iCloud+ subscribers in Pakistan, with users receiving emails confirming the expanded benefits.
The move is being watched closely by Pakistan’s technology community as the latest signal that the world’s most valuable company is paying serious and sustained attention to the Pakistani market.
What Pakistani Subscribers Are Getting
Apple’s iCloud+ webpage now lists Pakistan among the countries where the expanded subscription package is available. Under the new arrangement, existing iCloud+ subscribers automatically receive access to both Apple TV and Apple Arcade while retaining their existing storage plans at completely unchanged prices.
Pakistani subscribers confirmed that they received the benefit notification this week. One 50GB subscriber confirmed their monthly price remains Rs 200. A 2TB subscriber was informed that the price remains at Rs 2,500 per month, with both new services now included.
Apple says iCloud+ subscribers can also share their plans with up to five family members, including access to Apple TV and Apple Arcade. Availability of specific content and features may vary by country or region.
The expanded iCloud+ package is part of a global rollout across more than 100 countries. Pakistan’s inclusion in that rollout is itself significant given that the country was not always among the first markets to receive Apple service upgrades.
The Salman Dar Connection
The timing of this development is not coincidental. It comes shortly after Salman Dar was appointed Apple’s Head of Government Affairs for Pakistan, a newly established, dedicated role through which he will lead Apple’s engagement with Pakistani regulators, policymakers, and key stakeholders.
Dar brings over three decades of technology and policy experience to the role, having previously served as CEO of ITROOS and in leadership positions at the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA).
