A man allegedly killed his wife and three children over a property dispute in Chiniot, Punjab, with police recovering the children’s bodies from a buried pit.
CHINIOT: A horrifying incident has emerged in Chiniot, Punjab, where a man allegedly killed his wife and three children over a dispute concerning property.
According to police, the tragic incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station in Chak No. 126-JB. Investigators said the suspect allegedly killed his wife on August 30, while his three children were also missing.
Based on suspicion, police dug up a pit and recovered the bodies of the missing children. The victims were identified as 7-year-old Umm-ul-Bani, 6-year-old Saba Zahra and 3-year-old Nawaz.
Police said the suspect had allegedly been pressuring his wife to transfer her share of agricultural land into his name. He had reportedly also threatened to kill his wife and children if she refused to hand over the property.
A case has been registered at Sadar Police Station under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Police are conducting raids at various locations to arrest the main suspect.
Meanwhile, Chiniot District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif visited Chak No. 126-JB and inspected the site where the children’s bodies were recovered. Senior police officers and a team from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency also collected evidence from the scene.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said all individuals involved in the incident would be brought to justice and assured that the victim’s family would be provided justice.
