Heavy rain inundated low-lying areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with Nullah Lai water levels reaching 20 feet. More rain is expected through August 21.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi received torrential rainfall, flooding several low-lying areas. Water levels in Nullah Lai at Kattarian reached 20 feet, while the flow at Gawalmandi Bridge rose to 15 feet.
Rainfall recorded included 144mm in Golra, 132mm in Bokra, 105mm in Pirwadhai, 77mm in Gawalmandi, 60mm in Kacheri and 41mm in Shamsabad.
Water entered homes in Dhoke Khaba and Sadiqabad, while the district administration advised residents living near Nullah Lai to remain cautious.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert from August 17 to 21, with rainfall expected in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Low-level flooding has also been reported at several locations along the Indus River.
