KOHAT: At least 11 people, including women and children, were killed and 12 others injured after the roof of a mud house collapsed during heavy rainfall in Kohat on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred in the hilly village of Malgin, where a family gathering was underway when the rain-weakened roof suddenly caved in, trapping dozens beneath the rubble.
Rescue officials confirmed that emergency teams recovered the victims and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals after providing first aid. Many of those hurt are women and children, according to rescue authorities.
The disaster came amid widespread rain-related incidents across the region. In Attock, five people were injured when a wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, torrential rains triggered flash floods in seasonal streams in the tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan. Power outages were also reported in several areas of Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Muzaffargarh as the severe weather disrupted electricity supply.
Authorities have urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious as heavy rains continue across parts of the country.
