GUJAR KHAN, Pakistan — A father and his son were shot dead after unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in the village of Kanghar Khurd, Union Council Jarmot, in Gujar Khan, Punjab, police said.
The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting, leaving the local community in shock and fear. Police arrived shortly after receiving the report, secured the area, collected forensic evidence, and shifted the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
According to police, an investigation is underway from all possible angles to determine the motive behind the double murder and identify those responsible.
Taking notice of the incident, Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera directed the SSP Investigation, SP Saddar, and ASP Gujar Khan to reach the crime scene immediately and ensure the swift arrest of the suspects.
Police said efforts are ongoing to trace the attackers and vowed that everyone involved in the killings will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
