Quetta’s well-known restaurant owner Mohammad Hashim Norzai, owner of the popular “Kabul Jan” restaurant, was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Quetta, police confirmed on Saturday.
According to police officials, the incident took place early Saturday morning near the Usmania Hotel on the Kuchlak Bypass, within the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station.
Police said Hashim Norzai, a resident of Wazirabad Kuchlak, was travelling alone from his home towards the city in his personal Vigo vehicle when unidentified assailants opened indiscriminate fire on him.
As a result of the attack, Norzai died on the spot, while the attackers managed to flee the scene after carrying out the shooting.
Law enforcement authorities reached the area shortly after the incident and shifted the body for legal formalities. Police have launched an investigation into the killing and are searching for the attackers.
The murder of the well-known businessman has created shock and concern among residents and the local business community in Quetta.
