Lahore witnessed a disturbing acid attack incident in the Rang Mahal area where a man allegedly tricked people by pretending to offer “Zamzam water” before throwing acid on them, injuring six individuals.
According to police, the suspect arrived at a shop carrying two bottles and told those present, “I will give you Zamzam water.” Moments later, he hurled acid on the people sitting inside the shop and fled the scene. The attack left Muhammad Munir, Waheed, Usman, Tahir, Nazim, and Ashraf injured, who were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that two victims were admitted while four others were discharged after first aid, as all injured persons are reported to be out of danger. Following the incident, SP City took notice and directed immediate action under the instructions of the DIG Operations Lahore.
Rang Mahal SHO Farah Mushtaq acted swiftly and arrested the suspect, identified as Rashid. Investigators said the attack stemmed from a verbal altercation that took place five days earlier. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway to determine all aspects of the incident.
