Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone appears closer than ever to reality, with new leaks and industry reports suggesting the tech giant is preparing its biggest iPhone redesign in years.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone could launch in late 2026 with a crease-free display, titanium design, and a premium price exceeding $2,000, according to fresh industry leaks.

According to multiple reports and supply chain leaks, Apple is actively developing a book-style foldable device — widely referred to as the “iPhone Fold” or possibly “iPhone Ultra” — expected to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
The foldable iPhone is rumored to feature a 7.8-inch internal display alongside a 5.3-inch outer screen, powered by Apple’s future A20 processor and up to 12GB RAM. Analysts estimate the device could carry a premium price tag between $2,000 and $2,400.
One of the biggest reported breakthroughs involves Apple’s attempt to eliminate the visible screen crease that has long plagued foldable smartphones. Reports suggest Apple may use advanced glass engineering, specialized adhesives, and a liquid metal hinge system to create a smoother display experience.

Leaks also indicate that the foldable iPhone may use a titanium-and-aluminum body, making it both lightweight and durable. The phone could become Apple’s thinnest device when unfolded, even slimmer than the recently introduced iPhone Air.
Industry insiders say Apple’s iOS 27 software is already being optimized for foldable displays, adding further weight to speculation that the company is preparing for a major hardware launch.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously suggested Apple is focusing heavily on four key selling points for its foldable device: durability, performance, minimal screen crease, and a large tablet-style display experience.
While Apple has not officially confirmed the project, analysts believe the foldable iPhone could be one of the company’s most significant hardware launches since the original iPhone — potentially reshaping the global premium foldable smartphone market.
