Islamabad Cop Fired for Refusing AJK Duty, More Officials Face Action
Islamabad Police have launched disciplinary proceedings against officials who allegedly refused duty assignments in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan, with at least one constable already dismissed from service.
According to official records, Constable Ahmad Ali was charged with misconduct and inefficiency after reportedly failing to comply with repeated orders to report for election duty in AJK. Authorities stated that despite clear instructions to join deployment at Police Lines Headquarters, he did not present himself for the assigned task.
Police officials described the matter as a serious breach of discipline and the chain of command. Following a departmental inquiry, Ahmad Ali was removed from service under the applicable police rules.
Sources indicate that action may also be taken against other personnel found to have refused or neglected similar duty assignments in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The development underscores the police department’s emphasis on discipline and compliance with official orders, particularly during sensitive assignments such as election-related deployments.
