A frustrating travel experience aboard a Daewoo Express bus has triggered criticism on social media after a passenger described what she called a “heartless” and “inhumane” response from staff during a journey from Lahore to Multan.
According to the passenger, the incident occurred early in the morning when the bus stopped at Thokar area near Lahore. Her travel companion, who was also a colleague and family friend, briefly stepped off the bus to buy food.
However, before he could return, the bus reportedly drove away.
The passenger claimed she immediately informed the bus hostess, rang the bell repeatedly and shouted toward the driver, requesting the bus be stopped for just a few moments so the missing passenger could board again.
Despite her repeated pleas, she alleged that no staff member responded sympathetically.
“I kept explaining that his phone was left on the seat and there was no way to contact him,” she wrote in an emotional social media post. “Stopping for two minutes would not have changed anything.”
She further claimed that even after asking the crew to let her off the bus because she could not manage all the luggage alone, nobody paid attention or offered assistance.
The passenger also contacted the company’s terminal and call center during the journey but said she received no meaningful support.
Describing the ordeal as emotionally distressing, she said she felt ignored and helpless throughout the trip.
“It felt like I was talking to walls,” she wrote, adding that no one seemed concerned about her panic or the anxiety of the stranded passenger who had no phone, no luggage and no way to communicate.
The incident has reignited debate online about customer care standards in Pakistan’s transport sector, with many social media users criticizing what they described as poor communication, lack of empathy and weak emergency handling procedures by transport operators.
Daewoo Express has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
