Senior journalist Jahanzaib Haque has been appointed Chief Editor of Nukta, marking a key leadership move as the platform enters a new growth phase following ARY’s strategic investment.

In a major development for Pakistan’s digital media landscape, Jahanzaib Haque has been appointed Chief Editor of Nukta, following the acquisition of a majority stake by ARY Digital Network in March 2026.

Haque announced his new role with a clear message — his career has never been driven by titles, but by a deep commitment to editorial excellence and hands-on newsroom leadership.

A hands-on editorial leader

Known for his immersive approach, Haque has worked across all layers of newsroom operations — from entry-level roles to top management — shaping content, audience strategy, and digital transformation.

“I’ve never really worked for titles. It’s always been about the work,” he stated, highlighting a philosophy rooted in ownership, curiosity, and execution.

Strong growth, bigger ambitions

Nukta has already achieved significant early success, recording over one billion impressions and 700 million views in its launch year. Haque described these numbers as a foundation for future expansion, especially with ARY’s backing.

Extensive experience across leading media organizations

Haque brings nearly two decades of experience in journalism and digital media:

• At Nukta, he previously served as Chief Digital Officer & Editor (2024–2026), where he led the platform’s launch and scaled it into a cross-border digital brand across Pakistan and the UAE.
• He spent almost 10 years (2014–2023) at Dawn Media Group as Chief Digital Strategist & Editor of Dawn.com, overseeing one of Pakistan’s largest digital news operations with 80 million monthly pageviews and a 14 million+ social audience.
• Earlier, he served as Web Editor at The Express Tribune (2010–2014), managing online news platforms and leading newsroom digitization efforts.
• He also worked as Content Coordinator at Aurora Magazine (2008–2010) and began his career as a Copy Editor at Geo TV Network (2007–2008).

In addition, Haque contributed to academia as a Visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Business Management (2014–2018), teaching digital journalism and current affairs.
