Controversy erupts over Dhurandhar as Naureen Chaudhary accuses filmmakers of distorting her late husband’s story, warning of legal action against alleged unauthorized portrayal in the Bollywood film.

A fresh controversy has emerged around the Bollywood film Dhurandhar, with the family of a Pakistani police officer accusing the filmmakers of unauthorized and inaccurate portrayal.
Naureen Chaudhary, wife of the late officer Aslam Chaudhary, has alleged that director Aditya Dhar depicted her husband’s story without consent and presented it in a distorted manner. The character is reportedly portrayed by Sanjay Dutt in the film.
“My husband was never afraid of Rehman Dakait, nor was he against the Baloch. His character has been portrayed incorrectly,” she said, warning of legal action against the filmmakers.
The objections center on claims that key aspects of Aslam Chaudhary’s life and professional conduct have been altered, potentially affecting his legacy. Naureen Chaudhary maintains that neither she nor her family granted permission for the story to be used.
The filmmakers have not yet issued an official response to the allegations.
The controversy adds to ongoing debates in the film industry over creative freedom versus factual accuracy, particularly when real-life figures and sensitive cross-border narratives are involved.
Legal experts say the case could hinge on whether the portrayal is presented as a fictionalized account or a direct representation of real events.
