International supermodel Gigi Hadid has strongly denied any connection to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein after her name appeared in newly released documents, calling the reference “disturbing” and “deeply upsetting.”
Responding to public reaction online, Hadid said she had never met Epstein and was shocked to see her name included in the files.
“I want to state clearly that I have never had any affiliation with that individual,” she said, adding that the mention made her feel “sick.”
Files trigger global attention
The documents, released by the US Department of Justice, have drawn worldwide attention, including in Asia, where Epstein’s case remains closely followed due to its links with global elites.
Hadid and her sister Bella Hadid were referenced in a 2015 email exchange in which their modeling success was questioned in speculative and inappropriate terms.
Hadid emphasizes professional journey
The 30-year-old model highlighted that her career was built through legitimate means, noting she signed with IMG Models in 2012 and has worked consistently in the global fashion industry since then.
She also explained her initial silence, saying she did not want to detract from the voices of victims.
Epstein case continues to resonate
Epstein, who faced charges of sex trafficking involving minors, died in custody in 2019 while awaiting trial. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving a 20-year sentence.
The release of documents has reignited debate globally over accountability, transparency, and the influence of powerful figures.
