Minister Aurangzeb applauded the sector’s 34% year-on-year export growth, emphasizing that local pharmaceutical production increased by 18%, significantly higher than the global average of just 5%.
He also highlighted the government’s regulatory reforms, which have streamlined drug registration processes — reducing approval timelines from years to just weeks. This efficiency allows faster market entry for innovative medicines and strengthens Pakistan’s competitiveness in the global pharmaceutical landscape.

The meeting concluded with a joint commitment between the government and PPMA to enhance collaboration, attract new investments, and drive export-led growth.
