Diljit Dosanjh Sardaarji 3 controversy has been the talk of fans since the film’s release. The singer-actor finally spoke about the issue during his live concert in Malaysia. He addressed the backlash, the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, and why he stayed silent until now.
The controversy began when Sardaarji 3 faced criticism for casting Hania Aamir opposite Diljit Dosanjh. Many questioned the decision, especially during ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. The film, directed by Amar Hundal, also stars Neeru Bajwa, Gulshan Grover, and Sapna Pabbi. It was released overseas on June 27 and performed well at the box office.
Speaking to his fans, Dosanjh explained that Sardaarji 3 was filmed in February 2025, much before the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. He clarified that the India-Pakistan cricket match was also held later. Clips from his concert showed him saluting the Indian flag and urging respect for the nation.
The singer also reflected on why he remained silent when criticism started. He said he chose not to respond earlier because he did not want to “take the poison inside” and add more negativity. Instead, he waited for the right moment to explain. Diljit Dosanjh Sardaarji 3 controversy, according to him, was based on misunderstandings about the timeline of events.
Despite criticism, the film has been well-received by audiences, and Hania Aamir’s role has gained attention. Dosanjh ended his statement by expressing grief for the victims of the Pahalgam attack and praying for justice.
