In a surprising career move, seasoned media and marketing professional Javed Jafri, widely known as JJ, has left Unilever Pakistan after a remarkable 15-year tenure to join a local giant, Habib Bank Limited (HBL), as General Manager, Digital Marketing, Media, and Commerce.
For many media professionals in Pakistan, landing a role in an MNC’s media or PR department is nothing short of a dream. So when someone of JJ’s caliber decides to leave a senior position at one of the most prestigious multinationals to join a local brand, it naturally raises questions.
Could it be corporate downsizing, a halt in professional growth, or simply an irresistible offer from HBL? Only time—or JJ himself—can tell. Given his quiet and private nature, getting a direct statement might not be easy.
