Saad Hamid has announced his return to Google, where he will lead Developer Community Programs across Southeast Asia and the South Asia Frontier. In his new role, Hamid will be working to empower local communities and foster AI-first skills development in a region that spans 990 million people.
With over five years of experience at Google, Hamid’s previous roles include App Growth Manager and Community Manager, where he supported app and game developers across international markets and built relationships with startups and tech innovators in South Asia.
Before rejoining Google, Hamid held leadership roles at DEMO , Ideas for Impact and Invest2Innovate (i2i), focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development. His work has contributed significantly to strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems in Pakistan and beyond.
As the Regional Lead for Developer Community Programs, Hamid is looking forward to unlocking opportunities through technology, particularly in emerging markets like Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and others across the region. His goal is to bridge the gap between technology and communities, enabling growth and development across Southeast Asia and South Asia.
