Nadeem Ahmed, a reporter for 92 News, was injured in a firing incident near Karachi’s Karsaz area.
According to report, the incident started with an argument caused by the reckless driving of a Vigo vehicle. The altercation escalated when the driver of the Vigo shaked a weapon and opened fire. CCTV footage of the incident shows a double cabin vehicle fleeing the scene. Following the shooting, Karachi police arrived at the private TV channel’s office where the attack occurred.
Police officials reported that the injured journalist, Nadeem Ahmed, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. According to DIG East, Usman Ghani, Nadeem sustained a gunshot wound to his leg but is now in stable condition and out of danger.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from Additional IG Karachi. Expressing his regret over the attack, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the firing on the journalist, stating: CM as also directed the police to arrest the culprits immediately.
Meanwhile, Sindh Interior Minister Zia ul Hassan has requested details from SSP East regarding the incident. He instructed that updates on the investigation’s progress should be shared with the journalist community. Additionally, he emphasized that those responsible must be apprehended and brought to justice as soon as possible. The police have been directed to provide daily updates on all proceedings related to the case.
