According to reports, Linda Yaccarino, the head of advertising at NBCUniversal, is said to be in talks to become the new CEO of Twitter. Elon Musk recently announced that he had found a new chief executive for Twitter, but did not reveal the person’s name. Yaccarino has been with NBCUniversal for over a decade, where she has advocated for finding better ways to measure the effectiveness of advertising.
She played a key role
launching the company’s ad-supported streaming service, Peacock. Prior to joining NBC Universal, she spent 19 years at Turner Entertainment, where she is credited with moving the network’s ad sales operation into the digital future. Yaccarino is an alumna of Penn State University, having studied liberal arts and
telecommunications. She recently interviewed Musk at an advertising conference in Miami,
where she praised his work ethic and encouraged the audience to welcome him with
applause.
If Yaccarino were to leave NBCUniversal for Twitter, it would be another significant loss for
the company, following the departure of NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell after acknowledging
an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company.
