In a country where it was once considered inappropriate for women to drive, there is now a positive change as young women have begun riding motorcycles to attend college and university. However, as we have emphasized before, our daughters and sisters who ride motorcycles deserve respect on the road.
Unfortunately, harassing female motorcyclists is still seen by some as a display of masculinity. Today, I felt deeply saddened, as a female motorcyclist became a victim of a truck driver’s reckless driving. According to details…
In a tragic accident, an 18-year-old girl named Rimsha Saleem lost her life after a truck collided with the motorcycle she was riding on in the D-Type Colony area on Tuesday. The devastating incident also left her younger sister, Nadia Saleem, 17, and their 18-year-old relative, Sadia Aslam, with serious injuries.
According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the three girls were traveling together on a motorcycle near Korian Bridge on Sammundri Road when a speeding truck struck their bike. The collision caused severe injuries to all three, requiring immediate medical attention.
Rescue 1122 teams promptly arrived on the scene, providing first aid before transferring the injured to Allied Hospital-II (DHQ Hospital) for further treatment. Tragically, despite medical efforts, Rimsha Saleem succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
This heart-wrenching incident has left the community in shock and underscores the persistent dangers on the roads, particularly for motorcyclists.
