Amid swirling rumours about their marital separation, Bollywood couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are reportedly set to collaborate on a new film. The project is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who has been looking for the right subject to reunite with the couple, known for their roles in Guru (2007) and Raavan (2010). This new venture would mark Abhishek’s fourth collaboration with Mani Ratnam, after his earlier films Yuva (2004), Guru, and Raavan.
Despite recent speculation surrounding their marriage, the couple’s professional reunion has sparked excitement. Divorce rumours gained momentum after the pair arrived separately at a high-profile wedding in July and after Abhishek’s social media activity, where he liked a post discussing the rise of “grey divorces” among long-married couples. However, neither Abhishek nor Aishwarya has addressed the rumours publicly.
Abhishek, in an earlier interview, expressed his admiration for Mani Ratnam, recalling his excitement when the filmmaker first chose him for Yuva. He said, “Any actor would give a limb to work with Mani. I take great pride in being part of his cinema three times.”
The couple’s fans are eager to see them back on screen together, hoping their reunion marks a new chapter, both professionally and personally.
