- The Air India aircraft departed Runway 23 at 13:38 IST, climbed to about 625 feet, and issued a “Mayday” distress call within less than a minute.
- Upon losing communication with air traffic control, it crashed in a residential area near BJ Medical College, resulting in a devastating blaze.
- Emergency responders, including fire and medical teams, rushed to the crash site. The airport was immediately closed for rescue operations.
⚖️ What’s Next
- The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), along with India’s DGCA, and with support from the UK’s AAIB and US NTSB, have launched an inquiry into the crash.
