In a shocking incident in Karachi’s Ancholi area, a speeding Vigo vehicle hit two young motorcyclists, leaving them seriously injured. The accident took place on 7 July 2025. Eyewitnesses said the driver of the Vigo immediately fled the scene after the crash.
The vehicle is registered in the name of Syed Zafar Abbas, founder of the JDC Foundation. Due to the force of the impact, the number plate fell off, helping bystanders trace the vehicle’s owner. Shortly after, Zafar Abbas arrived at the location with his team. According to reports, some members of his team allegedly tried to stop bystanders from recording videos and even snatched mobile phones.
The police from Samanabad reached the site following calls from the public. Zafar Abbas took both injured boys to a private hospital for treatment. In a statement, he said that his office boy was driving the vehicle at the time, and blamed the accident on the motorcycle, which he claimed had no headlights.
The victims were identified as Abdul Ahad (18) and Hanif (19), both cousins and residents of Azizabad Mohammadi Colony. Abdul Ahad is reported to be in critical condition and is currently on a ventilator.
Zafar Abbas later arranged for their transfer to another private hospital on Stadium Road. Police confirmed they have the car’s registration, the driver’s name, and the motorcycle’s details. They visited the hospital to take statements but were unable to due to the victims’ condition. Families have requested that treatment be prioritized before legal proceedings begin.
