Video & audio calls coming to X (Twitter), Musk says

Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform formerly known as Twitter (now called “X”), has announced that the platform will soon introduce video and audio calling features.

These features will be available on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC without requiring a phone number.

Musk envisions X as a global address book. Additionally, X’s payment branch, Twitter Payments LLC, recently obtained a currency transmitter license in Rhode Island, allowing it to engage in cryptocurrency-related activities such as exchanges and wallets.

Musk has been making significant changes to X since acquiring it in October, shifting toward a subscription-based model amid declining advertising revenues and controversial content moderation decisions, including the rebranding of Twitter as X.
