(ISLAMABAD): Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, said in a meeting in Islamabad that steps were taken to produce a Pakistani series on Netflix which was currently being filmed in Italy. Moreover, a Hollywood film company was making an Urdu version of Jane Austin’s popular novel Pride and Prejudice which will highlight women’s empowerment in Pakistan.
Besides the ventures already embarked upon, Attaullah Tarar said he would like to take this venture forward and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting would provide all possible assistance for this ‘Pride and Prejudice’ project.
At the screening ceremony of the drama series “Kazakh Khanate: Golden Throne,” Minister for Information and Culture Attaullah Tarar highlighted Pakistan’s historical pride in its globally acclaimed dramas, songs, and films.
He emphasized the legacy he inherited and his mission to revive and promote Pakistan’s cultural heritage. Tarar noted the deep-rooted cultural and historical connections between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, mentioning commonalities in their languages and heritage.
Tarar emphasized the importance of promoting both entertainment and strategic ties between the two nations. He mentioned recent significant dialogues between Pakistani and Kazakhstani officials, including a visit by Pakistan’s deputy prime minister to Astana.

Tarar expressed his commitment to enhancing film screenings and production in Pakistan, encouraging private-sector involvement.
He suggested that airing “The Kazakh Khanate: The Golden Throne” in Urdu on Pakistan Television would not only gain popularity but also foster better cultural understanding between the two countries.
He assured the Kazakh ambassador of his dedication to strengthening cultural relations and advancing media, cultural, and film production cooperation through existing memorandums of understanding.
