Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recently announced a significant alteration to the expiration date of Umrah visas for foreign pilgrims. Effective immediately, the new expiration date is Dhul Qadah 15, marking a two-week shift from the previous deadline of Dhul Qadah 29. This adjustment aims to enhance the efficient management of pilgrims traveling to the revered cities of Makkah and Madinah, particularly with the Hajj season fast approaching.
In response to inquiries received via social media platform X, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah clarified the validity terms of the three-month Umrah visa. Unlike the former policy, where the validity commenced upon entry into the country, it now begins from the date of issuance. This adjustment streamlines administrative processes and aligns with the government’s commitment to ensuring a seamless pilgrimage experience.
Collaborating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah orchestrated the new expiration date of Dhul Qadah 15 to regulate the influx of pilgrims effectively. This strategic decision aims to optimize the flow of individuals entering and departing the country, facilitating the organization of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The Ministry’s proactive measures underscore its dedication to enhancing the overall pilgrimage experience for all participants. By implementing these changes, Saudi Arabia seeks to foster an environment conducive to smooth and secure pilgrimages, promoting the spiritual journey of millions worldwide.
