Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal, former members of Pakistan’s winning squads in the 2009 T20 World Cup and 2012 Asia Cup, have taken up roles as Fast Bowling and Spin Bowling Coaches, respectively, for the Pakistan Men’s Team.
Their debut tasks include coaching during the upcoming Test series against Australia from December 14, 2023, to January 7, 2024, and the T20I series against New Zealand from January 12 to January 21, 2024. Umar Gul previously served as the bowling coach for the Pakistan Men’s Team in the T20I series against Afghanistan and New Zealand, as well as for Quetta Gladiators in the last HBL PSL season.
With extensive international experience, Umar Gul made significant contributions to Pakistan’s cricket, boasting 163 Test wickets, 179 ODI wickets, and 85 T20I wickets.

Saeed Ajmal, a former world no. 1 ODI bowler, is set to lead as the Spin Bowling Coach. Ajmal, with a stellar career in international cricket spanning Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, also shared his coaching expertise with the HBL PSL franchise Islamabad United.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Umar Gul said, “I am honored to join Pakistan’s coaching staff. My aim is to elevate the team’s bowling strengths to new levels.”
Saeed Ajmal added, “I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited to contribute to the development of spin bowling talent within the national team.”
