A tragic incident occurred in Charrha Manika, a village near Haveli Lakha, where lightning struck during rainfall, claiming the lives of two teenagers and injuring another. The victims were working in the fields, planting rice (paddy), when the weather suddenly turned severe and lightning struck them without warning.
The two who lost their lives were identified as 17-year-old Asad, son of Amanat Ali, and 16-year-old Anam Bibi, daughter of Muhammad Yar alias Munir. Both belonged to the nearby area of Naeemabad and were helping with the seasonal rice plantation. Sadly, they died on the spot due to the force of the lightning strike.
Another girl named Shanza was injured in the incident. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment. Her condition has not been disclosed, but locals say she was conscious when shifted to the hospital.
According to residents, the storm came without much warning, and the lightning struck so suddenly that no one had time to react. The local rescue teams arrived quickly and helped move the bodies and the injured girl from the site.
The bodies of the deceased were taken back to Naeemabad, where an atmosphere of mourning now prevails. The entire community is in shock over the unexpected loss of such young lives.
Local people are appealing to the government to provide financial assistance to the grieving families, as they were already struggling economically. The incident serves as a heartbreaking reminder of nature’s unpredictability and the need for safety measures during stormy weather.
