The lifeless body of Colonel (retd) Qazi Ishaq was found this morning on the banks of the Soan River, two days after severe monsoon rains swept away his car along with his 25-year‑old daughter in DHA Phase 5, Islamabad, while attempting to cross a seasonal stream.
Despite challenging rescue conditions—mountainous terrain, strong currents, and heavy rainfall—search operations continue for his daughter. Authorities have recovered the vehicle’s bonnet and door, but have not yet located her.
