In the Matiari district of Sindh, a TikToker girl has allegedly been subjected to gang rape by three individuals. According to reports in local media, the victim was lured by a group of men while visiting the New Saeedabad tehsil in Matiari district, where they sexually assaulted her.
After the horrific incident, the victim approached the police and accused a man named Waqas Mallah and his friends of gang-raping her. A case has been filed against the identified suspects, but they are currently evading arrest. Disturbingly, the victim has expressed dissatisfaction with the police response and has reported receiving threats from the perpetrators.
Rape and sexual abuse are grave issues in Pakistan, affecting both men and women. The government has implemented laws to address sexual assault and protect the rights of survivors. However, despite these measures, sexual assault continues to be underreported in the country. Various factors contribute to this underreporting, including societal stigma, fear of reprisal, and lack of trust in the justice system.
