The creator of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s anthem, ‘Hum Koi Ghulam To Nahin,’ Asim Tanha, has been killed in a personal dispute in Bhakkar district.
The incident occurred in the Chandi Chowk area of the Bhakkar district, where the Seraiki poet Majid Khan, also known as Asim Tanha, along with two others, was murdered. Bhakkar district police informed Urdu News that the murder took place yesterday in Chandi Chowk.
According to the police, the well-known poet Majid Khan, known as Asim Tanha, was shot and killed by his relative, Samiullah, over a family dispute in Chandi Chowk. The incident occurred during a family dispute, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.
Asim Tanha and Samiullah were cousins, and there was a recurring dispute between them during the family conflict. After the altercation, Samiullah shot and killed Majid Khan, the police report reveals.
Asim Tanha’s brother, present at the scene, also opened fire and killed Samiullah on the spot, the assailant. The initial report of the incident has been filed by the district police, and an investigation is underway.
Asim Tanha was a poet, songwriter, and creator of Seraiki, Punjabi, and Urdu songs. He was also the author of a book titled “Hum Koi Ghulam To Nahin,” which contained songs with the same title.
Asim Tanha’s funeral prayer will be offered at Sani Chur at 2:00 PM according to family sources.
