According to TMZ, Gigi Hadid, a prominent American model, was apprehended at a UK airport for transporting weed and smoking paraphernalia. The incident occurred on July 10 when the 28-year-old model arrived in the Cayman Islands from the US on a private jet.
During the customs inspection at Owen Roberts International Airport, authorities discovered a small quantity of marijuana and related smoking devices in her luggage. Gigi Hadid’s companion, Leah Nicole McCarthy, was present at the time of the arrest.
According to reports, Gigi Hadid and her friend were arrested on charges of importing marijuana and smoking utensils at the UK airport.
However, the weed was allegedly intended for personal use only. Subsequently, they were taken to the Prisoner Detention Centre, but both individuals were released on bail after completing the required protocols.
On July 12, Gigi Hadid and her friend pleaded guilty in court, resulting in a fine of $1,000. Following this, they were released from custody. It is worth noting that Gigi Hadid does not have a conviction on her record, as per sources.
