The International Cricket Council (ICC) is investigating Sri Lankan cricketer Praveen Jayawickrama for violating anti-corruption laws.
There are three allegations against the 25-year-old spinner, one of which is soliciting international match-fixing and allegedly contacting another player to fix 2021 Lankan Premier League matches ( LPL).
The ICC said Jayawickrama allegedly deleted malicious messages related to fraud. You have 14 days from 6 August 2024 to correct the allegations.

Jayawickrama made his international debut in 2021 in a Test match against Bangladesh and showcased his talent with 25 wickets in just five matches. There are also five ODIs and five T20Is for Sri Lanka. In LPL 2021, he played a major role in the Jaffna Kings team and helped them win the tournament.
On Wednesday, the Afghan Cricket Board issued a five-year suspension on cricketer Ihsanullah Jannat after verified accusations of match-fixing.
The Afghan Cricket Board stated that Ihsanullah Jannat, a batsman, violated the ICC’s anti-corruption code at the second season of the Premier League in Kabul this year. Jannat has confessed to being part of these activities.

The anti-corruption unit of the Afghan Cricket Board is currently looking into three additional players for potential involvement in match-fixing.
