LAHORE — After serving nearly eight years as Lahore Bureau Chief at HUM News, veteran journalist Shiraz Hasnat is set to join the Express Group’s upcoming English news channel.
Hasnat, who began his media career in 2000 with Daily Khabrain, has also worked with Daily Dawn, The Post and Express Media Group. Beyond his reporting credentials, he is a teacher, public speaker, and winner of Press Club elections — serving as finance secretary in 2022 and senior vice president in 2024.
A Punjab University graduate with a master’s in political science (2000–2002), Hasnat is regarded by peers as a highly learned professional whose calibre merits top leadership roles such as MD, CEO, director news, or prime-time anchor.
While his vision for reform at the Press Club remained unrealized, colleagues note his significant contributions to the media fraternity.
