Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of the PMLN has made a final decision to bid farewell to his party. He declined to accept the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in the future politics of the PMLN.
Some sources claim that angry PMLN leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will do a presser in the coming days to announce on the latest development. The senior politician decided to distance from PML-N after consulting with his voters.
In light of his decision, the senior politician decided against contesting general elections, calling the much-awaited process ‘pointless’. Abbasi said he would not contest upcoming elections, but hinted at joining a new party.

Earlier, he stepped down from his role as PML-N Senior Vice President due to a senior conflict with Mian Nawaz Sharif over the promotion of Maryam Nawaz as senior leader and remained absent from ongoing meetings related to election tickets chaired by Nawaz Sharif.
Abbasi served as the 21st prime minister of Pakistan till May 2018. He remained in the National Assembly of Pakistan for 8 non-consecutive terms for more than 3 decades. The outspoken politician also served as Chairman of PIA until 1999 and also successfully running the private airline Air Blue.
