Multan:According to the report by daily “Baithak,” a case has been filed against Pakistan’s well-known Naat Khawan, Shahbaz Qamar Fareedi, for allegedly raping a woman. It is reported that the woman has been facing pressure to drop the charges. The complainant submitted an application at the Women Police Station in Multan, claiming she resides in a flat at Nishat Arcade, Chowk No. 9.
According to the woman’s statement, on November 5, the flat owners informed her that they had sold the flat and asked her to vacate immediately. She requested more time, to which the owners suggested that she speak directly to the new owner, Shahbaz Qamar. Later, the flat owner allegedly sent a driver to pick her up and took her to a residence near Liberty Home, close to Butt Karahi Bypass Road, where Shahbaz Qamar and others were reportedly present.
The woman claimed that upon arrival, the flat owners introduced her to Shahbaz Qamar as the new flat owner. After a brief interaction, the flat owners and some others left, leaving Shahbaz Qamar and two other men with her. She alleges that Shahbaz Qamar and his accomplices then raped her and threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm. She reported that her calls for help went unanswered.
The complainant stated that she attempted to call the police helpline (15) but was unable to complete the call. She then reached out to a family friend, a lawyer, and shared her location, who arrived on the scene to assist her.
The woman further alleged that even after the incident, she was pressured to accept money and drop the charges. She also accused some police officials of coercing her to sign documents in the presence of the suspects.
The Women Police Station has registered a case against Shahbaz Qamar Fareedi and other suspects and has begun an investigation. The complainant added that she continues to receive threats and pressure to settle the matter.
