Renowned Pakistani television actor Shagufta Ejaz’s husband – Yahya Siddiqui – passed away on Thursday after battling a long illness.
Mr Yahya had been undergoing treatment at Karachi’s Agha Khan Hospital, where he had been bedridden for some time due to his deteriorating condition.
Shagufta Ejaz, one of Pakistan’s most beloved stars, shared the heartbreaking news with her followers on Instagram, requesting prayers for her late husband.
In a post, she wrote, “My husband Yahya Siddiqui has passed away. Kindly recite Surah Fatiha for his maghfirat (forgiveness). JazakAllah.”
Yahya Siddiqui had been suffering from cancer for the past five years, during which he received extensive treatment. Despite his illness, the couple recently celebrated their wedding anniversary in a private hospital room, a touching moment that Ejaz documented for her vlog.
The couple had been married for several years, blending their families from previous marriages and raising their four daughters. Ejaz had two daughters from her previous marriage, and together, the couple had two more, creating a strong and loving family unit that has been admired by many.
