Get a selfie with your ID card and soon you will soon get a verified account as the social media platform is reportedly seeking to combat impostors with new security features.
X, formerly known as Twitter, is reportedly developing new identity verification features to combat impersonation.
Users will be required to upload a copy of their government-issued ID and take a selfie with a device featuring a functional, uncovered camera.
This verification process, which takes approximately five minutes, aims to enhance security and authenticity on the platform.

X has partnered with Israeli company Au10tix for this feature. User ID images and biometric data will be stored on X’s servers for up to 30 days and shared with Au10tix for identity confirmation.
Although ID verification is optional for X Premium users, concerns remain regarding the extent to which users will be willing to share personal information.
Some users also worry that this feature might inadvertently create a black market for fully verified accounts on other platforms.
