Simultaneously, in South Waziristan, a family tragedy took place in the form of an explosion in Ladha tehsil. Conflicting reports arose, with officials claiming the explosion was caused by an explosion inside a house where explosives were supposedly stored. Nevertheless, the local figures argued that it was a drone strike. The explosion took the lives of Banat Khan, his wife, and their children, Shahzeb and Rajma Bibi, while a 13-year-old girl was injured and hospitalized. The incident created a controversy, with Maulana Jamaluddin Mehsud saying that it was a drone attack on the family, who had moved to avoid the summer heat.
