Samsung Foldables are getting more popularity, according to Samsung – and they could soon eclipse one of its classic Galaxy Note series phones.
It seems that according to Samsung’s president and head of the mobile experience division, TM Roh, foldable phones are gradually becoming more popular and are moving closer to becoming a mainstream form factor. He compared the sales of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Flip series with the past performance of the Galaxy Note series, which was discontinued in 2021.
TM Roh mentioned that the sales of the Galaxy Fold and Flip series are currently almost on par with the Galaxy Note series’ past performance. Furthermore, he expressed the expectation that with the release of the fifth-generation foldable series, specifically the Flip and Fold 5, they will be able to surpass the sales of the classic Galaxy Note series.
While an exact timescale was not provided, Samsung is optimistic that its new foldable series will eventually achieve this milestone, signifying the increasing popularity and potential dominance of foldable phones in the market.
So, when Samsung’s president and head of mobile experience division, TM Roh, referred to the expectation of surpassing the sales of the Galaxy Note series with the Flip and Fold 5, it is likely that they are looking at the sales figures towards the end of the Note series’ life cycle. It’s essential to consider this context while interpreting Samsung’s statement about the potential success of their foldable phones compared to the Note series. The goal is to exceed the sales that the Galaxy Note series had in its later stages rather than comparing it to its peak sales performance.
