Aik News Islamabad has announced the appointment of Rubi Sumra as the new General Manager of Sales and Marketing, effective August 15, 2024. Sumra, a distinguished figure in the media sales and marketing sector, brings with her an extensive career spanning over 29 years.
Before joining Aik News, Sumra served as Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Daily Dunya, a position she held from December 1, 2021, to August 15, 2024.
Prior to that, she was the Business Manager of Sales and Marketing at the same newspaper from August 11, 2012, to November 2021. Her tenure at Daily Dunya highlights her long-standing commitment and expertise in the field.
Sumra’s career began at The Liberty Group of Newspapers in Multan, where she worked as a Marketing Executive from July 10, 1995, to June 14, 1997. She advanced through various roles, including Assistant Manager of Supplements and Events, Manager of Marketing & Supplements, and Manager of Supplements & Special Reports at different media houses.
Her experience also includes roles as Manager of Marketing & Sales at Daily The Nation, Lahore, from October 21, 2007, to June 10, 2009, and as Business Manager (Government Sector) at Daily Pakistan Today from July 1, 2009, to August 10, 2012.
Sumra is a graduate of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. Her appointment at Aik News marks a new chapter in her career, as she takes on the role of leading the sales and marketing strategies for the news organization.
