The Punjab government has announced special arrangements to facilitate citizens during upcoming festive celebrations, introducing a major public relief initiative. Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari stated that the Punjab government will ensure that buses and rickshaws operate free of cost on February 6, 7, and 8. According to her, this initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to public convenience and inclusive celebrations.
She further revealed that the Punjab government is taking a structured approach to event management. From December 30, manufacturing related to kites and kite strings will be allowed under monitored conditions. Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, on behalf of the Punjab government, has directed the formation of a sub-committee to finalize safety guidelines and operational planning.
Officials believe this move by the Punjab government will significantly benefit daily commuters, families, and visitors. The Punjab government has emphasized that public safety, regulation, and citizen facilitation remain top priorities throughout the celebrations.
